Laser vision correction

A clearer view of your world

Laser vision correction can reduce your dependence on glasses or contact lenses, helping you enjoy clearer, sharper vision in everyday life.

It can be used to treat short-sightedness (myopia), long-sightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism, using established techniques tailored to your individual eyes and lifestyle.

Treatment options

Which laser treatment is right for you?

There are different types of laser vision correction, and the most suitable option depends on your eyes, your lifestyle and your individual goals. During your consultation, we will discuss the options in detail and recommend the best approach for you.

PRK / LASEK

Surface laser treatments can be effective alternatives to LASIK, particularly for patients who are not suitable for LASIK. Recovery usually takes longer, but excellent outcomes may be possible.

Is laser vision correction

  • Are in good general and eye health
  • Have realistic expectations
  • Do not have an underlying eye condition that may affect safety or results

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Ask us a question
How long does the procedure take?

Laser treatment itself generally takes only a few minutes per eye. You should allow longer for preparation, checks and time in the clinic. Exact timings depend on the procedure.

Is laser eye surgery painful?

Anaesthetic eye drops are used to numb the surface of the eye. You may feel pressure or mild discomfort during treatment. Some soreness and light sensitivity can occur afterwards, particularly with surface laser procedures such as PRK or LASEK.

How soon will I see clearly?

Vision often improves rapidly after LASIK, although it can fluctuate during healing. PRK and LASEK generally involve a slower recovery over days to weeks. Your recovery plan will be explained before treatment.

Are there any risks or side effects?

Possible effects include temporary dryness, glare, halos, light sensitivity and changes in vision. Less common but potentially serious complications can occur. We will discuss your individual risk profile, alternative treatments and expected outcomes before you decide.

What is the difference between LASIK and PRK / LASEK?

LASIK involves creating a thin corneal flap before reshaping the underlying tissue with a laser. PRK and LASEK treat the corneal surface without making a LASIK flap. The best option depends on your corneal measurements, prescription, eye health and lifestyle.

Will I still need glasses in the future?

Laser vision correction can reduce your dependence on glasses, but it cannot guarantee that you will never need them again. Age-related reading changes and future prescription changes can still occur.
